Bullfrog

The bullfrog is one of the coolest frogs there is around. These little guys are so interesting that weve decided to name our website after them, and we hope that you think the bullfrog is just as interesting as we think they are! Here are some quick facts about these cool creatures:

  • Some people call the bullfrog the true frogs since they are usually green with a hint of brown the colour that most people expect frogs to be.

  • A bullfrog can be anything from a couple of inches all the way up to 6 inches in length.

  • If you want to go looking for a bullfrog, youd have a better chance of finding one in North America since this is where they first originated from. So, if you live elsewhere you might want to get the next flight over the North America!

  • An egg from a bullfrog will hatch within just a couple of days, so theres really no waiting around!

  • Studies have shown that the bullfrog will eat just about anything, including other bullfrogs. As long as the bullfrog thinks that an animal or insect can fit down its throat then itll try to eat it, its that simple. Inside the stomach of a bullfrog, you can expect to see things like tiny turtles, rodents and even bats which is pretty impressive!

  •  In the wild, a bullfrog can live for anything from 6 years up to 10 years. If the bullfrog isnt living in the wild, it could potentially live for nearly twice this length of time.

  • A bullfrog can leap big distances compared to other types of frogs. They can leap 5 or 6 feet if they really wanted to, so make sure you stay back from them if you dont want one jumping on you!

  • Bullfrogs favourite temperature is just under 30 degrees Celsius, which is just a little bit warmer than the normal day in the UK, we wish!

  • Just like many other types of amphibians, once it rains the bullfrog goes straight to land as quickly as possible. This is why theres a good chance of seeing them on roads and so on in North America when its raining over there.

  • Even though the bullfrog doesnt look like an aggressive creature, it can be when it wants to. During the mating season (summer months) a male bullfrog will try its best to keep an area to itself. If anything goes inside his territory, you might see a different side to the cute little frog that you once thought he was! During mating season you might hear some weird noises from bullfrogs, but this is just a call to attract female bullfrogs.

As you can see, the bullfrog is a really interesting creature, and thats why weve decided to name our website after it. Bullfrog.co.uk is coming very soon, but do you know what it is yet? Keep checking back to see what Bullfrog.co.uk becomes!
